Remarks on other specific characteristics of the unit:The Western facing slopes of Ben Shieldaig contain the most westerly of the Caledonian Pine Inventory sites. Dominated by Scots pine with birch, rowan, oak and holly. The woodland has a variable canopy and shows a range of age classes.
